There have only been a handful of reports, a couple posted on Reddit, and others posted on Dread.
There has been no official announcement by any law enforcement organisation that I am aware of, but these are early days.
The best course of action is to consider the reports as true, even if they are unverified. I hope that you and your correspondents all used PGP.
